MY BLOG - AN OLD MAN HAVING A MOAN ;-)

Before we continue, a personal statement

One of the pleasures having a personal web site is that I can print what I like and provided it is not libellous nobody can stop me. Now please don't expect to read lies here but there are personalities on the Bluebell who consider themselves beyond criticism, they make statements and some members feel unable to say anything against them. This is not me - I say it as I see it, always have, always will!

Don't get me wrong, I wish the Bluebell Railway as it started out in the 1960's well. In other words I wish a steam railway running through beautiful Sussex countryside well and wish it to continue, expand and reconnect with the main line as a priority. Times change however and some people believe that the railway as it is run now has gone too far the way of a business with the people who do the work without payment and without whom the railway just could not continue ostracised and ignored.  Sometimes I am wrong, but I am also right quite often too. As Judge Judy and Sherlock Holmes said "what is most obvious is often right". Can anyone else understand why the railway is having so much difficulty raising funds for the extension?

IS THIS FAIR TRADING?
(October 1st 2011)

Get my complaint? 10 Litres of diesel at £1.39.9 a litre should total £13.99 NOT £14.00

I bought some fuel in Haywards Heath today and just happened to stop filling at exactly 10 litres. Imagine my indignation when I was charged not £13.99 but £14.00! The garage would hear nothing of my complaints just saying that their pumps are regularly checked. In fact I rather think that did not understand my complaint. Maths is a dark art to many people these days and when I said "just move the decimal point" I got a blank stare.

Is this fair? After all I had not yet purchased £14.00 of fuel so surely they are overcharging?

What do you think?
